Text Box: Plague of Terror is a thoroughly contemporary novel, portraying a world of computers, Internet, websites, e-mail, terrorist activity, bacterial warfare, romance, and temptation. Yet behind all these familiar realities, David Paul subtly reminds us of an even greater, spiritual reality. Unveiling demonic forces infiltrating our workaday lives, he captures their effort to bend history to their malevolent will. In the end, David Paul shows evil succumbing to God’s benign will as God rescues and saves humankind through the cross of His Son, Jesus.
Sound and sophisticated in its theology, Plague of Terror is not a theological treatise. It is, rather, a spine-tingling narrative, the Gospel in story form, more specifically, a dramatic (and artistic) rendering of St. Paul’s contention that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against... the rulers of darkness... against spiritual wickedness in high places.” In the author’s own words, the book will make “you think about God again, and of things more important than what kind of car [you’re] driving, or the square footage of [your] home.” If you like the novels of Stephen King, Frank Peretti, J.R.R.Tolkien, and C. S. Lewis, then Plague of Terror is the book for you.

Text Box: Plague of Terror is one of those books that grabs you from the first page and never lets go! As the story unfolds, several seemingly disconnected plots move like freight-trains on a collision course with ultimate evil. David Paul builds tension by developing believable characters in real situations, giving the reader just enough time to catch his breath between thrills. The drama is further heightened as the reader senses that terror of this magnitude is actually possible today! Only after finishing the book does one realize that David Paul has cleverly taught us deeper philosophical truths disguised as entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! —–Michael J.
